TKF Carbon Footprint
We understand our responsibility to take action to reduce our impact on the environment. By pursuing a carbon reduction strategy, we are taking a critical step towards reducing our carbon footprint. To achieve this, we used Climeet to accurately measure TKF24’s carbon footprint and identify areas where we could make improvements. A copy of Climeet’s TKF24 Carbon Footprint report can be found here.
TKF25 Reduction Plan
TKF24’s Carbon Footprint Report revealed that 75% of TKF24’s Co2 emissions was generated from flights made by participants traveling to the Forum.
TKF believes in the benefits of hosting an in-person global convention. Due to the relatively small nature of the forum, the community develops a sense of kinship during workshops, dinners, and alpine activities creating an ideal environment to foster connections and effective relationships needed to find collaborative solutions for urgent environmental challenges. In addition, we are committed to ensuring that TKF is a truly global forum, bringing together stakeholders from all sectors to highlight the interdependence of the issues at stake and to encourage cross-pollination of information, ideas and projects from around the world. Addressing the conflict of hosting a global in-person forum whilst committing to reduce TKF’s carbon emissions is a challenge.
To help combat this challenge, we are offering 10% discount on TKF25 tickets for participants travelling to the forum by train. We hope that this new travel initiative will actively encourage responsible travel to our forums and help to reduce our carbon emissions.
In addition, TKF will offset the remaining emissions, including those produced from unavoidable flights, using high-quality carbon credits related to TKF’s chosen Forum topics. The chosen carbon credits are WREN Projects.
