TKF is committed to understanding and addressing the environmental impact of our activities. Therefore, each year we measure the forum’s carbon footprint to provide a transparent view of the forum’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and to identify priority areas for reduction. The most recent reports can be found below.
TKF aims to bring together a carefully selected community of world-class leaders to confront the defining environmental challenges of our time. As a truly global and diverse forum, we believe that physical presence is essential to fostering the meaningful collaboration these challenges demand. At the same time, we acknowledge that participant travel inherently conflicts with our long-term ambition to achieve net-zero emissions and that in-person gatherings have an impact on the environment. For this reason, our in-person events are designed as low-impact gatherings that inspire systemic change far beyond the conference itself. While reducing greenhouse gas emissions remains central to our approach, TKF also prioritises waste reduction, local economic value, inclusion, and cultural respect.
Addressing the conflict of hosting a global in-person forum whilst committing to reduce TKF’s carbon emissions is a challenge, with our Carbon Reports showing that the majority of our Co2 emissions was generated from flights made by participants traveling to the Forum. To help combat this challenge, we are offering 10% discount on TKF tickets prices for participants travelling to the forum by train as their main form of transport. We hope that this travel initiative will actively encourage responsible travel to our forums and help to reduce our carbon emissions.
In addition, TKF will offset the emissions, including those produced from unavoidable flights, using high-quality carbon credits related to TKF’s chosen Forum topics. The chosen carbon credits for TKF24 and TKF25 can be found below and more information on these projects can be found in the TKF Carbon Report.
